The matte gray Schoeps CMC 1 Table Set MK 4 is a space-saving Colette Series tabletop cardioid condenser microphone bundle designed to provide frequency-independent directionality, high immunity from RF interference, and transparent, low-distortion sound pickup of speech for critical audio and video conferencing applications.
It includes the CMC 1 miniature microphone amplifier, the MK 4 cardioid condenser capsule, the T 20 table stand, and a stand clamp. Thanks to the inclusion of the ultracompact CMC 1, this bundle serves as a lighter and smaller alternative to the CMC 6 without compromising sonic performance. It can be powered via 12 or 48 VDC phantom power.CMC 1 Miniature Colette Microphone AmplifierThe CMC 1 is a miniature Colette Series microphone amplifier offering uncompromising high fidelity in a lightweight and ultracompact form factor for studio recording, broadcast, and live stage applications. Presented as an alternative to the renowned Schoeps CMC 6 amplifier, the CMC 1 is compatible with all existing MK mic capsules and Colette active accessories (available separately).
It features a balanced XLR output, compliance with 12 or 48V phantom power, and low current consumption. Its Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity from RF interference for a clean, low-noise signal. The CMC 1 supports the high maximum SPLs tolerated by the various MK mic capsules.Complete alternative to the renowned CMC 6 amplifierCan be used in place of the CMC 6 with no compromiseElectrical characteristics of the CMC 1 are equal to, or even better than, those of the CMC 61.4″ long (about a third the size of the CMC 6)1.3 ounces (about 40% lighter than the CMC 6)Fully compatible with all existing MK capsules and Colette active accessories such as the CUT 60 and RC tubesVery-high immunity from RF interference with the Schoeps RFI ShieldIncludes mic clip for easy attachment to a mic standSuspension mounts such as the Rycote INV-6 are available separatelyMK 4 Cardioid CapsuleThe MK 4 is part of the Colette series of modular capsules designed for use with the CMC preamplifiers. The cardioid Polar pattern results in maximum rejection of rear incidental audio signal, eliminating off-axis noise and feedback. The cardioid pattern allows microphone placement to occur farther from the sound source than a pressure transducer of equivalent sensitivity. The MK 4 is ideal for both speech and music capturing, resulting in rich detail without coloration. The MK 4 is also a viable solution for X/Y or Mid-Side stereo recording.
Its flat frequency response and the constancy of its directional pattern for all frequencies are the basis of the MK 4¡¯s sound quality. Even in the diffuse sound field, its frequency response is flat, with a slight increase at 10 kHz compensating for high-frequency losses in the room.Cardioid Polar pattern effectively rejects rear and off-axis audio signal, resulting in greater signal-to-noise ratio and feedback rejectionExcellent directional response allows the MK 4 to be placed at further proximities from the signal source without degradationWide, linear frequency response ensures accurate detail regardless of the source signalT 20 Table StandThis elegant miniature table base with variable inclination and insulation from solid-borne sound can be used unobtrusively. An elegant cable routing is achieved when the cable (available separately) is hung in the wire eyelet, which is located between the pins and bottom plate.
The T 20 can also be operated without the vertical spacer if it is intended to be used near the table. The 3/8″ table flange F 5 (available separately) is suitable for a fixed installation at the table.
