Behringer Flow 8 Digital Mixer & USB Audio Interface
The Behringer Flow 8 Digital Mixer is a compact and affordable digital mixer that offers modern features and workflow in a simple and easy format. Whether you’re a Singer, Songwriter, Small Ensemble, Teacher, Presenter, Gamer, Podcaster or Video Blogger, producing at home or playing live in Bars, Cafes or on the street, Practicing or Performing, the Behringer Flow 8 ensures flawless Audio Reproduction and helps you create with ease.
Composition
The Behringer Flow 8 has 2x Microphone Inputs that accept Audio Signals coming in via Balanced XLR Cables. Both XLR Connections provide individually selectable +48V Phantom Power for Condenser Microphones. With 2x High-Quality Midas Microphone Pre-Amps and internal 32 VFP Processing, Flow 8 joins the ranks of the X32, X-Air and Wing Digital Mixing Consoles.
2x XLR/Jack Combi Inputs accept Audio from Line-Level Sources or Dynamic Microphones, which are routed via Balanced XLR Cables, Balanced 6.3mm TRS or Unbalanced TS Cables (these Inputs do NOT provide Phantom Power). 4x Stereo/Mono Inputs accept either Line-Level Stereo (Tracks 5/6 and 7/8 are Stereo Pairs) or Mono Signals (5 and 7 Left for Line-Level Mono Sources, 6 and 8 Right for High-Impedance Mono Signals from Guitars and Basses).
The Main Left/Main Right Connectors are also designed as XLRs, whilst the 2x Monitor Paths have 6.3mm Jack Sockets. A 6.3mm Jack Socket allows Headphones to be connected and, thanks to a Foot-Switch Input, a single or dual Foot-Switch can be connected via a 6.3mm Cable.
Each individual Channel provides crystal clear sound. All Channels feature 4-Band EQ, Compression and 2x FX and 2x Monitor Sends. 60mm Channel Faders control the Mix Levels of the respective Channels. The VU Display shows the Levels of the Main Mix, Monitor Mixes or FX Send Signals. For example, the Red “1” and “2” LEDs at the top of the Level Meter light up when +48V Phantom Power is enabled for those Channels. The Main Knob controls the overall Volume of the currently selected Bus – FX1, FX2, MON1, MON2 or MAIN. The final Volume Setting is indicated by the LED Ring at the outer edge of the control. Last but not least, all Monitor and Main Busses have a 9-Band EQ and a Limiter to avoid unexpected Volume peaks on your Speakers.
EZ-Gain & Gain Staging
If you are interested in clean and healthy Signals with low Noise and low Harmonic Distortion, the correct setting of the Pre-Amplifier Gain is of utmost importance. It defines the degree of Amplification that a Signal receives when it enters the Mixer. Since Source Signals can be anything from a strong thump on the Snare Drum to a Subtle Buzz, there is no one Gain Setting that is suitable for all purposes.
Gain Staging is always a compromise, and finding the right level requires either experience and technical knowledge or the new Flow EZ-Gain Feature. This can monitor Signals on one or all Channels simultaneously and then automatically adjusts the Channel Gain to the optimum headroom.
EZ-Gain automatically turns on the +48V Phantom Power at Mic Inputs 1/2 when no Signal arrives and turns it off again when still no Signal arrives.
App Control
Small Mixing Consoles are often placed out of necessity rather than where it would be most useful for Control or Mixing, making use more difficult. The Flow 8 offers full Remote Control from virtually any Android or iOS Device, allowing you to go where the sound is ideal for any type of adjustment. Fine-tune the 9-Band EQ for the main PA Speakers, set the Compressor and so on, from any location you can walk to. After selecting the Input Type, a Set-Up Wizard offers you Pre-Sets and tells you where to connect Cables. This innovative Feature allows you to add your Instruments and Microphones even if you are not yet an expert.
Studio-Quality Effect Engines
The Flow 8 features 2x independent Studio-Quality Effect Engines, each with 16x Pre-Sets to refine your Instruments and Vocals with breath-taking sounds and depth. 12x Reverb Programs offer a range from very short, lively ambience to very long, smooth Stadium Simulations. All are available in 2x versions and their Decay Time is infinitely variable. In addition, you get different Delay and Modulation Effects for all Styles and Applications. The handy FX1/FX2 Buttons switch between the 2x FX Engines for Patch Selection and Parameter Settings. When the FX1 or FX2 Menu Keys are activated, the 60mm Channel Faders can be used to adjust the Send Levels to the FX Engines (Effects).
Total Recall
The integrated Snapshot Library has the ability to store an unlimited number of Snapshots per Flow Application, and gives you instant, unlimited performance. Store, Edit and Load your Mixer Settings via the Hardware or Application, instantly. You can even Trigger the loading of Snapshots with a connected Foot-Switch to bring your performance to life. While the Hardware provides 15x Internal Pre-Sets Storage Locations, the App can store an unlimited number of Snapshots sorted by name, date and time.
USB Audio Interface
The USB Connection on the back of the Flow 8 allows connection to a PC for Audio Streaming, Firmware Updates and MIDI Control. Using this Connection, the Flow 8 can also be used as a Multi-Channel Audio Interface with 48kHz/24-bit Resolution for Recording. The Interface offers 10x Recording Tracks (8x Analogue Inputs with L/R Main Mix Bus) and 2x additional Playback Channels.
All Input Signals can be individually Recorded and Post-Processed. This makes Flow ideal for DAW Home Recording with Zero-Latency Monitoring, Streaming and Podcasting. No additional USB Audio Interface is required. All Input Signals and the Main Stereo Mix can be sent to Audio Applications on a Mac, Windows or Linux System for Recording, Editing or Streaming.
Note: The DC IN Socket is designed as Micro-USB and allows power to be supplied from the included External Power Supply or a USB Power-Bank with Micro-USB Connection.
