The satin nickel Microtech Gefell UM 930 is a multipattern large-diaphragm condenser microphone offering ultralow noise and flexible pickup responses for precise capture of vocals and instruments such as strings, percussion, and guitars in recording facilities and radio studios.
It features a dual-capsule design that yields five selectable polar patterns¡ªomnidirectional, cardioid, wide cardioid, supercardioid, and figure-8, making it equally well suited for use as a main mic or as a part of stereo and mid-side configurations. The transformerless circuitry incorporates a transistor amplifier and produces only 7 dBA of self-noise.
The UM 930’s high sensitivity, standard 3-pin XLR output connector, and 48V phantom powering method ensure reliable performance with a variety of mic preamps. The supplied elastic suspension securely holds the UM 930 and mitigates the transfer of vibrations and stand handling noise. An aluminum case is provided to house the microphone and the elastic suspension. For vocals, speaker positions, radio plays, and as a support microphone for recording guitars, keyboard, percussion, wind, and string instrumentsCombines modern large-diaphragm technology with the latest semiconductor circuit technologyDual condenser capsules with PE membranesFive polar patterns¡ªomnidirectional, cardioid, wide cardioid, supercardioid, and figure-8Transistor amplifierUltralow noise of 7 dBAHandles SPLs up to 142 dBBalanced 3-pin XLR output connectorOperates on 48V phantom powerIncludes EA 92 elastic suspension and an aluminum case
