The X1 A from sE Electronics is a versatile entry-level microphone with a small-diaphragm condenser element that can be used to record a wide variety of sources including vocals, percussion, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, and other instruments.Styled with a black grille and white chassis, the X1 A uses a 2/3″ electret-condenser diaphragm and completely redesigned electronic components to deliver high-quality results at a budget-friendly price. An optional 100 Hz high-pass filter with a 6 dB per octave slope can be engaged to filter-out low end; this is especially useful in reducing the proximity effect if the mic is placed very close to the sound source. The X1 A offers a 20 dB pad switch that allows the mic to handle even very loud sources, such as guitar amplifiers, at up to 150 dB SPL.Connection to a wide variety of professional gear is ensured through a durable gold-plated XLR connector, and 48V phantom power is required.
