Common problems and solutions for sticker (cover) recording

图片

First of all, what is discussed here is the common problems in the pasting recording, that is, the cover recording.

Usually in the cover singing circle, most people are exposed to one track of accompaniment + one or several tracks of vocal recordings, yes, we are now discussing this, not the more complex instrument pickup~

It is precisely because most people in this circle are exposed to cover recordings, so most people in this circle do not have a good understanding of some basic recording knowledge, and feel that recording is a technical job of pretending, but in fact, the previous recording will be. have a huge impact on the later stage.

Below we will give examples and analyze various problems and solutions in cover recordings one by one.

1. Which software is better for recording?

In the case of recording, the software is basically the same. The sound quality mainly depends on the hardware equipment, recording method and recording environment. Use whatever software you are used to.

2. Recording equipment

Equipment is a bottomless pit, ranging from tens to tens of thousands. Everything is suitable. Entertainment cover recording does not mean that the more expensive the equipment is, the better. In an environment without acoustic decoration, good equipment The quality may not be as good as the poor equipment~

Because good equipment has better sound pickup ability and higher sensitivity, it may pick up more reflected sound than poor equipment. For home environment recording, you don’t need to pursue equipment too much, just meet your entertainment needs~

3. Recording environment

The recording environment includes the environment in which the recording site is located (such as near the construction site, haha), as well as the environment of the recording space (such as a room, a living room).

Recording in a quiet environment is a prerequisite, but it does not mean that good material can be recorded as long as it is quiet, because it also depends on the reflection of the recording space.

Reflected sound is an unavoidable nightmare for home recordings, and it is also the number one killer that destroys recording materials~

4. What should be the distance from the microphone?

Usually it is a little more than a fist, about 15-20cm, depending on the style of the recorded song and the expected effect. For example, the style is gentle, more tactful, it can be a little closer, the style is fierce, and the more violent can be slightly farther.

But remember, no matter it is far or near, don’t be too extreme~ Too close will have a near-talk effect, it will be very turbid, and it will make the sound loose and empty.

5. Recording in sections or in one go?

Our suggestion is to do it in one go, and the last time it is to record in sections, you don’t even have to think about the recording of each sentence.

After recording in one go, in terms of emotional expression and sound field of pickup, the microphone distance is mostly uniform. The last segmented recording may be similar. A single sentence or a very broken recording will make the singer very tossed, and the final recorded product is also very tossed: various volume levels are different, various sound fields are different, various emotional states are different, and the final effect can be imagined~

6. Can the effect be turned on or not, and whether or not to add reverb during recording?

Of course, no reverberation is added, not only no reverberation, but no other effects. The recording can go straight in and straight out.

7. How loud should the recording volume be?

Strictly speaking, there will be N kinds of situations and N kinds of standards, but just remember a trick, that is to look at the size of the recorded waveform. On the premise that the distance from the microphone is kept at 15-20cm, the recorded waveform accounts for the track. The upper and lower space is about 40%-70%~

Exceeding this range is too large, no. Less than this range, too small is not enough~ If the recorded data is always too small or too large when the distance from the microphone remains unchanged, then the input volume of the microphone must be adjusted. The specific adjustment standard is to refer to that ratio.

8. Which format is better to export

Just wav, no less than 16bit wav, 44.1K
