Why choose condenser microphones instead of dynamic microphones for professional recording?

First analyze the working principle between the two:

Condenser Microphone:
Its working principle is composed of two extremely thin metal films; when the sound wave causes the metal film to vibrate, the change of the distance between the metal films causes the capacitance to be different, thereby generating different currents. The condenser microphone needs to be powered by the corresponding phantom power supply, so that the microphone amplifier can work properly!

Dynamic Microphone:
It uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to complete the work. When the sound wave makes the metal film vibrate, the coil connected to the film vibrates with it. At this time, the voice coil can vibrate in the magnetic field of the permanent magnet, thereby generating an induced current. The magnitude and direction of the induced current change according to the change of the vibration. The effect of the change is determined by the sound wave. When the signal is amplified by the loudspeaker, it is transmitted to the Speaker, the amplified sound can be produced from the speaker.

After analyzing the working principle of the two, the next step is to analyze the effect of the sound generated between the two.

Condenser Microphone:
Condenser microphones are far superior to dynamic microphones in terms of sensitivity and extended high frequency response. Condenser microphones need to convert sound signals into currents first. The diaphragms of condenser microphones are very thin, and they are easily affected by capacitance and vibrate! The corresponding change in the voltage between the diaphragm and the diaphragm is caused, and the change in the size of the capacitance will be amplified by the pre-phantom current, and then converted into an audio signal output. Due to the very small area of the diaphragm of a condenser microphone, the response to low or high frequency sound signals becomes very sensitive. Therefore, the condenser microphone can accurately capture the audio signal that many people cannot hear, so as to achieve the effect of accurately restoring the human voice!

Dynamic Microphone:
In fact, the working principle of dynamic microphones is much simpler than that of condenser microphones! A moving coil microphone, in the true sense, should be called a “moving coil” moving coil microphone! The audio signal of this microphone is generated by the continuous movement of the coil closely connected to the diaphragm in the magnetic field according to the change of different sound pressures to complete the audio amplification. Among them, the volume of the moving part is relatively large, which causes the dynamic microphone to be much worse than the condenser microphone in terms of response frequency range and sensitivity. To sum up, condenser microphones are suitable for professional recording studios and quiet environments! And the dynamic microphone is used in the usual karaoke and noisy outdoor environment!
